Job Description
The Global Public Policy Development (PPD) team informs PepsiCo’s public policy agenda and drives the development of strong policy positions that address key issues facing the business.
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the execution of the Public Policy Development strategy based in Purchase, New York. Reporting to the Senior Director, Policy Development, Data and Analytics, this position will assist in analysis of the impact of regulation, tax, policies, and commitments on the business, and will assist the PPD team in the creation of public policy guidance and processes.
Accountabilities:
- Assists in data gathering and processing (through Python and Excel) for analysis of specific legislative and tax challenges, e.g. labelling, advertising and marketing, beverage taxes, etc.
- Assists in the creation of economic and data-based models. For instance, models to estimate the impact of new legislation on the PepsiCo business, to estimate PepsiCo’s contributions to different economies, etc.
- Assists with technical platforms and processes (e.g. working with vendors to help improve our Contact Relationship Management database, and writing scripts to track user participation in the system).
Qualifications/Requirements
- At least a BA in Economics, Finance, Business or related quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics)
- Strong familiarity with gathering, cleaning, and analyzing data. Should be familiar with data science tools (e.g. Python, Tableau)
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions and processes
- Familiarity with financial analysis and quantitative methods (e.g. regression)
- Familiarity with government or public affairs preferred
- Strong communication skills to manage information gathering requests
- Results oriented with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn various software applications
- Enjoys multifaceted projects and analytical challenges
- Highly proactive and able to navigate ambiguity and complexity while developing successful solutions
- Well-organized with strong attention to detail while working in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions, including comfort with supporting and interacting with senior executives
- Strong customer focused attitude
- Organized and self-motivated. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet demands of a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
