Job Description

Applications are invited for the permanent position of Data Analytics Manager managing the Data & Analytics IT team based in Carrigaline, Cork. As the Manager of PGCS’s growing Data & Analytics (D&A) practice, this role is required to lead the design and implementation of leading-edge reporting, data & analytics solutions to meet an ever increasing need to maximize the potential of data in realising our business goals. The Data & Analytics Manager will drive and support the PGCS D&A agenda.

We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. The Data & Analytics landscape consists of: SAP MDG, Workflow, Winshuttle, ~15 SAP ECC functional modules and a number of analytics technologies including BW on HANA, Tableau, SAC, Data Science (Python, R), SAP BW, SAP BEX, BEX Analyser, BO WEBI, BO Dashboards, Analysis for Office, SLT, BODS, Fiori across all PGCS sites, Support centre and Sector BU’s.

  • The Manager has responsibility for managing an investment budget of $250-500M annually, although this may fluctuate from year to year.
  • This role will report to the IT Enterprise Solutions Director for PGCS and will have a key role in leading out IT delivery of the Data & Analytics agenda. We have an exciting and varied agenda, and your role will include:
  • Provide leadership and management to the BI & Data team including coaching / mentoring
  • Manage the BI & Data budget of between $250m - $500m
  • Maintain an insightful understanding of the evolving technology and industry trends in the D&A landscape, and apply that insight to the development of our D&A strategy and solution portfolio, enabling us to best meet current and future requirements
  • Own Solution Design, Strategy, Architecture and QA review of Analytics Front End (SAP Fiori, WEBI, AFO, SAC and Tableau) and Backend (HANA modelling, Data ingest)
  • Partner with PGCS functional leads and business experts to identify and measure standard to fit KPIs
  • Implement best practice standards for Business Intelligence applications, promoting standardisation and re-usability of reporting solutions across PGCS
  • Maintain the catalog and documentation of PGCS analytical content such as Report master list, knowledge transfer decks etc.
  • Partner with Business functions across PGCS to determine data & analytics requirements, including those that require deep data science capabilities, plan and deliver solutions to meet their objectives and identify actionable insights and recommendations
  • Deliver effective support for BI systems, ensuring BI service levels are met
  • Manage the offshore D&A resources, evaluate the incoming requests, assess impact of those initiatives, prioritize the work for the team and drive implementation
  • Develop data visualizations, including reports, dashboards, and analyses to distribute data insights in an easily digestible manner to all relevant stakeholders
  • Support the Batch monitoring process for Global BI systems and ensure PGCS batch monitoring requirements are met
  • Develop the D&A user community, ensuring they are fully equipped with the knowledge to allow them to utilise the D&A solutions effectively and efficiently
  • Manage the implementation/deployment of new releases for BI – 2 to 4 week sprints for minor / incremental changes
  • Lead Sprint planning, retrospectives and other key ceremonies
  • Deliver and sustain the PGCS Data Quality application suite including reporting and mass update capability
  • Deliver tools to enable automation of Master Data setup and maintenance
  • Support the World Class Data (WCD) agenda and drive improved metrics through automation of rules and process improvements.
  • Manage the lifecycle of our Data & Analytics technologies and platforms, from creation, upgrade through to retirement
  • Ensure SAP user community has access to Master Data reporting and leverage BI and Data tools to deliver reporting and analytic capabilities

Qualifications/Requirements

Essential qualifications and/or experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, required, advanced degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of related IT business work experience, including embedded analytics, SAP BW, SAP Business Objects, BW on HANA, SAC
  • 8+ years of experience in global SAP and other ERP implementations, experience managing large global teams
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in analytics, business intelligence, or project management roles
  • Strong technical aptitude and business acumen with demonstrated experience leveraging data from a multitude of sources to solve complex problems, tell a story and impact the overarching strategy
  • Expertise in integration architecture patterns to send data from SAP to Non-SAP systems
  • Willing to drive new initiatives and ability to drive multiple threads of work to completion
  • Provides outstanding customer service skills to direct and indirect customers
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Solves highly complex, politically sensitive problems across teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to achieve results through collaborative working
  • Strong financial management experience with proven ability to manage annual budget
  • Strong team leadership and management skills with the ability to develop teams and cultivate talent

Desired qualifications and/or experience

Experience in CPG industry preferred

  • SAP BI Expert
  • Experience with SAP Business Planning and Consolidations, Standard and / or Embedded
  • Expertise in large scale project delivery, leveraging Agile and DevOps
  • Experience in at least 2-3 value steams, including Forecast to Schedule, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Make to Deploy, Financial Planning & Analytics and Record to Report
  • 3rd party Vendor Management expertise
  • Knowledge and experience in the following tools, disciplines and processes are nice to have SAP Solman 7+, MS Azure Dev Ops, Quality Centre and MS Project
