Job Description

This position is a critical part of PepsiCo’s newly formed KAGR team (Kroger Analytics & Growth Resource). The KAGR team will drive incremental, consistent, and sustainable growth to PepsiCo and Kroger leveraging the power of our data, science, and intellect in support of JBP (Joint Business Planning) delivery and uncovering future demand terrains.

This individual will support the PepsiCo Kroger business agenda by maximizing data assets and leveraging that information to deliver solutions for driving actionable insights for the business. Key responsibilities will be to understand the data availability across PepsiCo, Kroger & 8451 and to use that data to develop solutions by advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to inform deep transformational learning projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Compile analytics capabilities portfolio
  • Create and execute analytics rollout plan
  • Identify analytical capabilities and data gaps and how to fill those gaps
  • Critical member of team leading the global development and deployment of analytical tools and data science techniques to create actionable insights by analyzing large data sets and developing custom solutions to uncover trends, patterns and insights in the data
  • Lead business strategy conversations to understand needs and identify the best analytical approach to solve the business problem
  • Apply advanced analytics (predictive and prescriptive) to transform merchandising strategy and commercialized solutions (e.g., assortment optimization, marketing, opportunity forecasting, white space identification) across the PepsiCo portfolio
  • Utilize disparate data and statistical analysis to drive actionable insights
  • Detect, monitor, and forecast trend forces utilizing data sets from multiple sources and apply to solve business problems
  • Monitor data science trends, emerging tools and technologies and support strategic leadership in developing common, best and continually improving frameworks, processes and best practices for predictive science
  • Test/incubate commercialized solutions in partnership with Insights
  • Build self-service capabilities for KAGER application
  • Promote a culture and acceptance of test and learn culture
  • Coordinate work activities with Business teams, other IT services and as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced degree in quantitative field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Data Science experience
  • Experience with market research/insights/analytics, competitive intelligence or other similar function with demonstrated ability to manage function in a complex environment with multiple constituencies
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI)
  • Experience with statistics
  • Strong communication skills that is able to educate and influence management and senior leaders to act in a desired manner through written and verbal communication
  • Ability to simplify highly complex ideas into accessible and impactful insights in both written and verbal formats
  • Exceptional strategic thinking & analytical skills – ability to review complex data, pulling out key insights & translating into high level executive summary storylines & concise practical execution plans
  • Ability to visually present thoughts, storylines, facts & figures in a compelling way and adapt content to a variety of senior leadership and middle management audiences
  • Commercial Acumen – Strong commercial and analytical ability required to manage both the operational and strategic agenda and interrogate complex, incomplete or ambiguous data with ease.
  • Familiar with applying analytical insights to drive real-world changes
