The Prediction Data is a team within the Prediction org with the mission of continuously and scalably delivering improvements to the multiple machine learning models within Prediction by maximally using data as the primary lever. The scope of the team involves things like
- various kinds of data mining (both in vehicle and in cloud) and automation there in, - semi-supervised way of finding similar examples from long-tail events, - best ways of monitoring and maximally ingesting information from both good & bad data to models during training & testing, - continual learning algorithms that can fit onto newly mined errors and specific data while not regressing on any previous datasets, etc. The ML models running on the AVs are going to experience various kinds of environments and scenarios as Cruise expands itself to new markets around the world. This is where Data is going to play a major role in helping achieve these goals in a safe, robust and cost-effective manner.
