The Commercial Data Science team is looking for an Operation Research Data Science to help optimize Cruise's commercial operations. Autonomous technology gives Cruise an unprecedented control over its ride-hail fleet, which creates unique operational challenges. You will work closely with fellow Data Scientists and engineers on tackling these challenges in one of the following areas: dispatch of AV's to fulfill rider requests, batching of delivery orders, adaptive price policy, routing of remote assistance calls and optimizing charge and maintenance cycle of our AV's. You will have the opportunity to come up a unique solution to a problem, test and tune it in an advanced simulation environment and deliver material impact on Cruise's operations.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Collaborating with other data scientist and collaborators to fully specifying the problem and product requirements
• Performing data exploration and data cleansing
• Coming up with an algorithmic solution to a problem and coding it offline and possibly within the production system
• Creating documentation around the code and project outcomes
• Presenting project outcomes to stakeholders and fellow data scientists

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

• Good Python coding skills
• Experience in writing SQL queries
• Experience using optimization platforms such as Google OR-tools
• Good understanding of ML fundamentals

• Experience with reinforcement learning algorithms
• Experience with training and deploying ML models

The salary range for this position is $28.00 - $68.00/hour. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
