MP&C Analysis team is looking for a Planning and Controls Engineering Analyst Intern to help combine domain knowledge and data to better quantify the performance of our AVs. The intern will work closely with software engineers to identify metrics, develop visualization tools and produce key engineering insights for the team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of different aspects of the our software stack and their complex interactions. You will contribute to developing analytics tools to drive decision making on where to focus our feature development efforts and in identifying risks and bugs in our software.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Perform analysis of Autonomous Vehicle data to characterize vehicle systems performance and influence development of software features and systems engineering requirements
  • Combine experience in Controls and Motion Planning and data analysis to facilitate data driven design and prioritization decisions
  • Build data tools and visualizations to enable better decisions
  • Develop methods to analyze and compare the impact of software changes on relevant performance metrics

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another related STEM field
  • Some work our course experience with motion control, state estimation or trajectory planning algorithms, analysis of dynamic systems, time course signal analysis
  • Experience writing SQL or Python code to analyze data coming out of hardware systems

BONUS POINTS!

  • Experience using ROS, coding in C++ - project experience with ML algorithms
  • Experience with Jupyter, Looker or other data processing tools
  • Experience or course work in vehicle dynamics

The salary range for this position is $28.00 - 68.00/hour. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.These ranges are subject to change.
