Ground Truth team is responsible for building the data platform/engine for Cruise AI, where we build the infrastructure to efficiently find and label data that are impactful to improving our autonomous vehicles on-road behavior. The team works on, on-road issue diagnosis, long tail data mining, data labeling, data quality control, and dataset management/discovery. We are looking for candidates to help build petabyte-scale data platform to serve Perception/Prediction models. Responsibilities include development of self-serving data mining, and data labeling tools for the entire company; and development of automatic and accurate diagnosis tooling to improve AV stack performance.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Use the latest cloud technologies to design, implement, and test scalable distributed data systems in the cloud. Champion engineering excellence by continuously improving systems and processes
• Own technical projects from start to finish. Effectively participate in team’s planning, code reviews and design discussions
• Work together with partner teams and orgs to achieve cross-departmental goals and satisfy broad requirements

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

• Pursuing BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another relevant field; or equivalent real-world experience
• Experience building scalable infrastructure on the cloud with Python, Java, or Golang (or similar)
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
• Passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world • Attention to detail and a passion for truth
• A track record of efficiently solving complex problems
• Startup mentality - openness to dealing with unknown unknowns and wearing many hats
