The Localization team is looking for a strong intern to help architect scalable, product-level software related to localization of autonomous vehicles, i.e. precise estimation and tracking of vehicle position and orientation over time. The intern will work closely with the senior engineers in the team to develop solutions to challenging and cutting-edge problems, in a fast-moving but fun environment, with potential for high impact on company goals.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Support development of robust vehicle localization modules, tools, and/or test infrastructure. a. Project(s) may entail exploration of new localization algorithms, expansion of localization diagnostics and testing, and/or development of production tools related to localization. Project selection will be tailored to candidate expertise and program priorities.
• Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing, and code reviews

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

• Pursuing minimum of Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Ability to write clean, fast, reliable, testable, and highly scalable C++ and/or Python code
• Experience with image and/or point cloud processing algorithms, or estimation theory
• Eagerness to learn and explore new technologies
• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Experience with ROS
• Experience with non-linear optimization, Kalman filters, and related algorithms
• Experience with localization, calibration, and related algorithms
• Experience with OpenCV and Eigen

The salary range for this position is $28.00 - $68.00/hour. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
