About the Role

Cruise Fleet Reliability Systems team under Autonomous Vehicle Development organization is looking for a Data Scientist intern to help us march towards our goal of driving data science, analytics, and tool development to support HW development to maximize vehicle availability across all Cruise operations by developing reliability models, predictive models, investigation tools and performing ad hoc data analyses and data visualization. In this position, you will be analyzing and visualizing large amount of autonomy data to tackle problems using statistics, machine learning concepts and algorithm. If you're interested, let's chat!

What you’ll be doing:

• Review large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
• Work with various stakeholders to capture their data requirements and build dashboards, reports, and perform statistical analysis.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using BigQuery and Google GCP 'big data' technologies.
• Perform data wrangling to make it production ready for data modeling.
• Help senior members of the team with rule based classification model.

What you must have:

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Automotive.
• Some experience or project course work with telemetry data.
• Some experience and or project course work in writing complex, efficient SQL queries.
• Some experience or project course work on using Python and basic Python libraries in context to large datasets.
• Some experience or course work applying basic ML to a type of data and or used algorithms on data. Machine Learning strongly encouraged.

Bonus points!

• Experience with Google Suite (BigQuery, Google Data Studio, Looker).
• Experience in anomaly detection, cluster analysis, time series analysis, regression analysis.
• Experience in visualization libraries such as Plotly, d3.js, Seaborn.
