A Day in the Life  

  • Design and develop secure data processing platforms for predominantly real time data analytics & data science algorithms  
  • Build and design robust distributed data processing systems architectures that are highly scalable and performant  
  • Establish and adhere to strong data engineering best practices  
  • Keep up with and implement modern data solutions  
  • Interface with regulatory stakeholders to guide development that conforms to requirements  
  • Own deliverables from ideation to operating in production, i.e., “If you build it, you run it.”  

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports development and execution of the organization’s cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance and support of cloud architecture.
  • Works with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Responsible for complete end to end project management for the assigned project(s) which includes project planning, delivery, client interaction, trouble shooting and implementation support.
  • Drives the application of principles, theories and concepts based on the Cloud Stack and determines the best course of action.
  • Assesses opportunities for application and process improvement and prepares documentation to share with team members and other affected parties.
  • Requires sound technical knowledge combined with reasonable understanding of business issues.

Must Have:  

  • Bachelor’s with 4+ years of experience, Master’s with 2+ years of experience.  Degree must be in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Math, or similar field.  
  • Must have experience in key AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, KMS, etc. 
  • Knowledge and Experience implementing and using Kafka, CloudWatch, ELK, CloudTrail
  • Proficiency in at least one compiled and one scripted language – Python, Java etc.  
  • Must have experience creating APIs to pull data from one location to another. 
  • Should be Hands-on developer
  • Experience in CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Experience in developing systems for AWS meeting high availability, Performance, security and scalability criteria.
  • Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills - Verbal as well written 

 Nice to Have  

  • AWS Cloud certification  
  • Proficiency with relational database technologies  
  • Experience in NoSQL technologies including graph, document, and key-value data storage technologies  
  • Good to have knowledge and experience in Apache Spark, Hadoop, New Relic APM, REST API development, Microservices using Spring boot.
  • Good to have knowledge and experience in at least one container platform like Docker, Kubernetes etc. 
  • Documented experience with application of Continuous Integration/ Delivery  
  • Robust and in-depth knowledge of Python, R, or other language used for analytics  
  • Robust and in-depth knowledge of Java or other compiled language  
  • Experience with metadata management and data governance  
  • Experience with mentoring and managing other technical staff members, engineers and scientists  
  • Experience in medical device industry  
  • Understanding of FDA regulations including (ISO) 13485
