A Day in the Life

Control and Algorithm Engineer position, responsible for control design and algorithm development for surgical arm motion control and may include the following:

  • High level control programing
  • Perform hands-on develop on the system HW and SW with designated new features
  • Sensor's data acquisition and analysis
  • Algorithm design, development, and test
  • Build infrastructure for test and design
  • Responsible for motion unit component selection (Motors, Sensors, Drivers & Controller)
  • Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Write technical documentations
  • Work with cross functional teams in a multinational matrix organization

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in control theory and design
  • Knowledge of robot manipulator (Arm) kinematics and reference frame transformations
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Knowledge and application of designing with Matlab/Simulink
  • Good coding and documentation practices
  • Team player, quick learner, can-do attitude

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge and application of designing with C++/ Python – advantage
  • Knowledge of Signal processing algorithms
  • Experience with TwinCAT/EAS
  • Experience in working with different type of motors and feedback sensors
  • Knowledge of robot manipulator (Arm) dynamic
  • Experience with version control (git)
  • Good understanding of medical device standards, guidelines, and regulations
