A Day in the Life

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with strong analytical skills to join our algorithm development and data analytics team at Medtronic Diabetes (Northridge, CA). The position involves the support of research and development of medical devices related to continuous glucose monitors. The individual will work with members of research staff to improve the performance of continuous glucose sensors through the application of machine learning, analytics, signal processing and mathematical modeling and experimentation. The role will involve all aspects of the research process, including data processing, analysis, theory development and validation.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Contribute to glucose sensing technology innovation and research, supporting technology transfer from research to algorithm development, simulation, and modeling
  • With guidance, apply principles of machine learning and signal processing and construct algorithms in MATLAB or Python
  • Support analytics of large amounts of data to generate verifiable conclusions and address open questions
  • Support complex projects to meet technology performance and schedule objectives
  • Write detailed technical and scientific reports and manuscripts
  • Apply data analysis results to aid product development decisions and clinical study design

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of machine learning methodologies
  • Programming experience with MATLAB and/or Python
  • Experience (academic or industry) working with tabular data and time series
  • Understanding of statistical techniques and methods
  • Experience (academic or industry) working with data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of how to utilize statistical methods to inform decision-making
  • Knowledge of signal processing methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability in producing written documentation
