Job Description

Our computer vision/machine learning team is responsible for developing solutions that allow us to scale our automatic surgical understanding capabilities from raw video data. As a Frontend Engineer within the Machine Learning team in Digital Surgery, you will help to design, implement, and test user interfaces and data flow pipelines. You will build web interfaces to support other engineers and researchers of the team to visualise and manage their data processes. You will become part of a talented team exploring new concepts through fast, iterative prototyping.

A Day in the Life

• Design from scratch end-to-end frontend interfaces to visualise, monitor and interact with our data pipelines (processes, services, databases, etc.).
• Design responsive interfaces to allow users to explore and manipulate our machine learning datasets (videos and images with annotations).
• Collaborate with ML engineers and scientists in the team, as well as other stakeholders (Platform, Backend, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
• Actively seek out difficult usability impediments from our users (engineers and other internal users...) to improve and ease the human interface aspect of the UX you implement

Must Haves

• Solid understanding of base web technologies (HTML, CSS and JS)
• Professional experience with React or another modern JavaScript web framework (VueJS, Angular, Ember, etc.)
• Extensive experience with JavasSript visualisation, canvas and charting libraries
• Demonstrate experience creating interactive UI data applications

Nice to Haves

• Experience creating websocket applications is a plus
• Experience in with test automation frameworks for both front-end testing
• Knowledge of AWS services: S3, EC2, ECS
• Experience with Python and backend web frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI) is a plus
