A Day in the Life

As a Senior Project Manager, you will orchestrate and bolster design changes for our cutting-edge surgical robotics platform. This pivotal role will see you harmonizing and coordinating various initiatives within the Surgical Robotics program. In close collaboration with Project Management, Research & Development, Quality, Operations, and other cross-functional domains, you will drive the delivery of projects to our valued patients and customers.

Day in the Life:

  • Lead multifaceted cross-functional teams, encompassing Design, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain Planning, Sourcing, Labeling, Contract Manufacturers, and Quality. Guide them through the product development journey, ensuring project success and aligning with business objectives.
  • Develop and uphold project plans, schedules, and resource allocation for designated projects. Champion timely and effective communication, continuously updating stakeholders on the project's advancement.
  • Manage project meetings, meticulously document meeting minutes and pivotal decisions, and diligently track action items.
  • Foster harmony between design subsystem teams, operations, and the core team. Integrate input early in process development and quality planning.
  • Spearhead the preparation and synchronization of the official design transfer to operations when operational readiness benchmarks are met.
  • Establish robust channels for both formal and informal communication, relaying accurate and current information to all stakeholders.
  • Organize and guide a diverse array of distributed, cross-functional resources toward triumphant outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for prominent leaders and stakeholders spanning the organization.
  • Engage stakeholders, ensuring their involvement in shaping end products and processes that effectively address business challenges.
  • Contribute to project prioritization decisions by offering data-driven insights and analysis derived from ongoing and previous projects.

This position is located in North Haven, CT. Travel up to 25%, primarily in US.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading diverse and complex projects and programs and coordinating multiple teams to execute concurrent, interdependent projects
  • Knowledge of medical device R&D, product development, and clinical/regulatory procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and able to influence all customers (both internal and external) on issues that impact the business and its technical service and product strategies
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and non-verbal; expert active listening skills with a keen awareness for various messaging styles; and polished ability to tailor delivery to a broad range of audiences
  • Exceptional influencing and interpersonal skills, negotiating; managing change; goal setting; planning and organizing teamwork; ability to address difficult situations; conflict resolution; resource constraint and problem solving.
  • Experience managing or facilitating external audits. 
  • Degree in Engineering and/or scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Master’s degree in Engineering and/or scientific discipline, or MBA
  • Lean Leader/Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with ProChain
  • PMP Certification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical device standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, ISO 13485).

The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
