Job Description

Citi, the leading global bank, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in 95 countries and jurisdictions. Citi provides consumers, corporations, governments, and institutions with a broad range of financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team and help us extract valuable insights from our data. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine learning algorithms and natural language processing techniques, as well as a strong background in statistics and programming

Responsibilities:

• Identify and analyze complex data sets to extract meaningful insights
• Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems
• Apply natural language processing techniques to extract information from unstructured text data
• Evaluate and optimize the performance of machine learning models using techniques such as cross-validation and hyperparameter tuning
• Communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Continuously improve and innovate on data analysis and modeling techniques to enhance the accuracy and usefulness of insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide data-driven solutions
• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of proven experience as a Data Scientist
• Strong knowledge of statistics and programming languages such as Python or R
• Hands on experience with machine learning algorithms such as linear regression, decision trees, and neural networks
• Hands on experience with natural language processing techniques such as text classification, sentiment analysis, and entity recognition
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering
