Job Description

The Global Leader of Early Career Learning at Citi leads a global team that is responsible for preparing the pipeline of future leaders of Citi through the ownership of all Learning initiatives that impact Citi’s Early Career Talent. The team’s remit is global and spans all the lines of business and global functions at Cit. The Early Career Learning leader is responsible for setting the global strategy and operating model for the Early Career Learning function. This requires a keen understanding of modern learning principles and a future focused outlook on the trends in the Learning, Workforce Planning and Financial Industry across all geographies. Given the scope of the portfolio, this leader must build and manage a breadth of global relationships and stakeholders at the highest levels of the organization and work across multiple teams at Citi to execute on the strategy. This leader has significant financial responsibility, overseeing the global Learning budget for ~100 programs. The Early Career Learning team is made up of Learning Advisors and a Project Management Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses the broad and distinct needs of the organization and each business line in order to execute on the comprehensive enterprise-wide learning curriculum across the lifecycle of all Early Career programs (Early ID, Interns, Full-time and Associate) and the portfolio of programs, including measuring the impact of the learning for each individual participant and for the organization.
  • Partners with global, regional, and local stakeholders from across HR as well as from each business line at Citi that participates in the formal global enterprise-wide Analyst and Associate programs.
  • Identifies strategies and solutions that are directly linked to organizational and business goals by establishing and maintaining partnerships with key business leaders, SMEs, and vendors to identify and drive performance improvement change.
  • Rigorously evaluates the efficacy of each learning intervention and leads the analysis of current versus future state gaps, ensuring the continuous improvement of programming aligns to the behavior and skill outcomes necessary for success in role, by business.
  • Develops and implements consistent methods and metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions, considering the most innovative and modern delivery methods and solutions.
  • Harmonizes and aligns programming globally, by business, and across competencies to maximize efficiencies, learning outcomes and connectivity.
  • Proactively collaborates with the key partners from the Global Recruitment and Program Management Team, Diversity, Enterprise-Wide Learning and Digital Learning teams to drive key learning priorities.
  • Oversees the operational execution of a complex program delivery structure, technology platform, global budget, vendor management and the continuous redesign of how that occurs in partnership with key partners (i.e., Graduate Recruitment and Program Management, Global Event Marketing, Technology, Finance, Information Security, Registration, HR Shared Services, and Legal).
  • Provides consultative, advisory leadership while managing competing priorities across senior stakeholders and senior management. This will include influencing and interfacing with training councils for each program (regional and global), Senior HR Leaders (SHROs, CLO, Head of Talent Acquisition), Citi’s Security and Investigative Services unit, Technology leaders and Public Affairs, the office of the CEO and many members of the Executive Management Team.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Breadth of experience in needs assessments, instructional design, and delivery for multiple modalities (e.g., classroom, self-paced, virtual).
  • Experience in large matrixed and multinational organizations is preferred.
  • Has strong communication and collaboration skills and an innovative mindset to navigate complex global projects.
  • Clearly articulates ideas leveraging sophisticated data visualization and presentation techniques.
  • Must have commercial mindset and business acumen.
  • Must possess strong leadership, organizational design, and talent development skills and to ensure appropriate staffing and organizational structures are in place for their organization.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Strong team leadership and coaching skills

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience
  • Must possess leadership, organizational design and talent development skills and to ensure appropriate staffing and organizational structures are in place for their organization
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
