Would you love to work with a diverse, distributed team of Data Scientists to help improve their models and algorithms? At P&G, we use advanced machine learning and operations research methods to address exciting business problems at industrial scale across Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Research and Development and other departments. You will work across the breadth of our modeling efforts to categorize and help mitigate potential risks in our data, models, and pipelines.

You will do comprehensive assessments for our critical models to ensure they are sound in helping grow our portfolio of billion-dollar brands. Data and model failures result from data and modeling errors, shifting processes and technology, and unexpected external shocks. It is our job in the model risk management team to learn from past mistakes, anticipate future challenges, and develop techniques to avoid their repetition. We are accountable for assessing a broad range of applications and modeling techniques. The model risk management team serves as the center of excellence that drives tools and platforms that enable data scientist across the enterprise to deliver business-critical analytics to the cloud while maintaining high standards for quality and risk management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Utilize and enhance model risk governance frameworks
  • Coach and mentor data scientists in model development, execution, and monitoring best practices for ensuring model performance
  • Perform model risk assessments

Job Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s Degree in “STEM” field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) plus 3 to 5 years of experience, or PhD in in “STEM” field plus 3 to 5 years of experience in Data Science.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience with model validation, selection, operationalization, and other model management activities.
  • Solid Foundation across ML Techniques (Traditional Methods, Deep Learning, Bayesian, etc.), Statistics, Data Modeling, and Optimization.
  • Scientific Computing Language: Python
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence others to act and the technical courage to speak your mind and learn from failure.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, with good communication skills, and a proactive can-do attitude.

Preferred

  • Unix/Linux
  • Big Data Ecosystem: Databricks, SQL
  • High-Performance Parallel and Distributing Computing
  • GCP, Azure, or AWS

Pay Range: $146k-$172k

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience. At P&G compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Total Rewards at P&G include salary + bonus (if applicable) + benefits.
