This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the clinical development group of a high growth organization. The Manager of Biostatistics will be involved in the design, execution, analysis, and reporting clinical studies across multiple Moderna clinical programs.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the biostatistics leader and point-of-contact in clinical development teams responsible for wide range of data analysis explorations and visualizations including pre-clinical data, translational medicine, clinical and biobank data.
  • Build tools and pipelines for both scientists and statisticians to collect, process and harmonize high dimensional/wearable data from clinical studies, to perform routine exploratory analyses and report the findings with visual summarization.
  • Responsible to bring innovative statistical thinking and operational excellence to help drive applications of state-of-art statistical methods that increase the probability of successes for clinical development programs
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective quantitative approaches are applied to the collection and analysis of various data types
  • Implement advanced and sophisticated statistical methodology on various data sources to generate scientific insights for decision-making.
  • Develop statistical sections of protocols, statistical analysis plans with a focus on exploratory statistical analyses, and key specifications for statistical programming implementation of analyses.
  • Plan, manage, and track biostatistics activities, timelines, and resources and assure operational excellence
  • Review and/or author SOPs and/or Work Instructions related to biostatistics practices
  • Collaborate with and manage internal and external functions (e.g. CROs, software vendors, clinical development partners, etc.) to ensure meeting project timelines and goals
  • Oversee statistical contractors / consultants and manage / mentor junior team members

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • MS or PhD (or equivalent degree) with 5+ years (PhD) or 7+ years (MS) of relevant work experience in Biotech, Pharma, Regulatory authorities, or Clinical Research Organizations, with major in statistics, biostatistics, data sciences or other quantitative science field.
  • Excellent statistical knowledge with the ability of applying the knowledge to solve scientific and clinical problems
  • Experience with handling high dimensional data and creating visualization apps.
  • Strong hands-on experience with R, linux/unix, SQL and at least one programming language (e.g. Python or Perl) is essential.
  • Experience with AWS or GCP is a plus.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.
