The Principal Business Analyst, Digital Data Analytics will be responsible for holistically understanding end-user business requirements and partnering with Digital CoE’s to deliver data analytics solutions to the Technical Development organization. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the direction and digital vision of the company as we build world class analytical development and testing capabilities to further our mission of delivering transformational mRNA medicine to patients. Moderna is a cloud-first company and this role will balance building strong foundations, with implementing innovative new solutions that drive business value. With our strong pipeline, this position will play a key role partnering with our Technical Development stakeholders to enable our digital systems and processes for long term success.

This role reports into the Sr. Director of Process & Analytical Development systems and is based in our Norwood, MA location.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Act as technical product owner for digital analytics solutions and dashboards
  • Deliver processes and systems to capture complete, contextualized data and support real-time data analytics
  • Support development of data architecture for digital analytics solutions
  • Enforce data governance / master data management / data integrity standards
  • Partner with business stakeholders in the Technical Development to gather and write user requirements, user stories, and functional and technical specifications for digital analytics solutions
  • Work with engineering teams to deliver high quality, timely, digital solutions
  • Support prioritization of digital solution delivery
  • Apply an operational excellence mindset to help identify, devise, and recommend new opportunities to optimize current processes

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in science, engineering or relevant academic discipline 
  • 8+ years of experience implementing and supporting technology solutions and working in a either a research & development or GMP environment
  • Experience with Tableau, Spotfire, Statistica, and other data visualization or analysis tools
  • Experience with Laboratory Execution Systems, LIMS, ELN, SaaS based applications, etc.
  • Experience with historians such as OSISoft PI, data archival systems such as SDMS, and data storage solutions
  • Experience with data mapping, creating data dictionaries, and developing ontologies
  • Experience or familiarity with database design, ETL, and working with data models
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing digital systems
  • Data Integrity focused mindset
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, startup-like environment
  • Experience in defining, scoping, and managing technology initiatives
  • Strong knowledge GAMP, GxP compliance regulations, and data integrity standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization and lead teams to reach a common goal
