The Digital Team for Development and Medical is accountable for leading the definition, design, and implementation of digital platforms supporting clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, regulatory, biomarkers & medical affairs. 
  • As a Digital for Development and Medical team member, you will report to the Sr Director, Digital PV, and Clinical. You will work closely with the Digital Clinical and Medical Functional Line teams and stakeholders in our clinical development organization (CDO). Your responsibility will be to identify, define, architect various solutions for CDO. In addition, as a member of the cross-functional delivery team, you will support the implementation of the defined solutions focusing on end-user engagement and value realization.
  • As a design thinking practitioner, you engage in learning conversations with your stakeholders to identify and design impactful and innovative solutions. You are an expert at eliciting user stories and translating those into a digital mindset. You will work through all phases of Moderna's digital projects. You will principally lead workshops to elicit and understand our stakeholders' needs. You will collaboratively ideate and design innovative solutions in collaboration with our informatics, engineering, data science, and AI teams and external partners. This position will be located in Cambridge, MA.
  • You will be interacting with Moderna's engineering and infrastructure groups to ensure your solution design aligns with Moderna's Digital architecture and can integrate seamlessly within Moderna's ecosystem.
  • As a technology expert in patient and site experience in the context of decentralized clinical trials, you will support our PASE (Patient and Site Experience team) in the constant exploration and evaluation of market offerings in a global setting. 

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Define the architecture for internally design components and integration across systems
  • Provide strategic partnership to business partners and IT Functional Leads by educating on the technology landscape, performing proof of concept to demonstrate functionality, and pilots to prove selection of the best technology.
  • Work with and manage a team of internal and external 3rd party resources (vendors) performing analysis, architecture, design, and delivery of solutions in the Clinical research space.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost-effectiveness and systems flexibility
  • Conduct Vendor and Technology evaluations, ensuring tech stack meets Moderna's Architecture specifications and appropriate data handling and cybersecurity practices.
  • Work with the business analysts and Functional digital leads in developing Architecture and Solutions for the site and patient experience platforms.
  • Work with our Enterprise Architecture team to ensure the application components align with specific architecture needs and meet performance goals.
  • Demonstrate functional expertise, and offer pragmatic guidance, including pros and cons of various options
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the various technology stack (AWS) in use at Moderna

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in Application Architecture,
  • Broad experience in Digital Clinical Technologies and Architecture (decentralized trials, patient experience, patient centricity, telehealth. )
  • Expertise in defining and implementing advanced analytics and AI/ML-based solutions in clinical development. Adept at collaborating across clinical, patient safety, Medical; bridging the gap and connecting dots between various functions.
  • Ability to practice design thinking and human-centered design to drive innovative solutions
  • Ability to identify opportunities to use data as an asset to drive operations efficiency and generate novel insights to accelerate processes
  • As a technologist, you know your craft and are fluent in the digital world. You have first-hand knowledge of SaaS, cloud, and AI technologies in a patient-centric environment.
  • You work independently yet engage proactively with team members, colleagues, and stakeholders to align and drive solutions forward. 
  • You don't hesitate to dive in and work alongside your team. You can effectively manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, and you can navigate ambiguity and lead a team effectively. 
  • You put the team before tasks by collaborating actively with all team members and supporting them.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent required. Master's preferred.
