Job Description

We are currently seeking a creative individual to join our Data Science team in Smart Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence (SMAI) group in Micron Technology. The SMAI team supports company-wide AI solutions enablement from the intelligent manufacturing to optimized the business operation. This team works in Micron Taichung site, but collaborates with worldwide users and developers closely and frequently. This team builds end-to-end solutions for helping the Assembly & Test (A&T) operations globally. The scopes cover from advanced package technology development, smart planning and execution, equipment and process control to product quality assurance. The delivered solutions impact the business includes that discover yield improvement opportunities quickly, mitigate manufacturing risks actively, improve the process optimization efficiently, and handle the quality deviation management easily.

Position Overview...

As a Senior Data Scientist at Micron, You will apply data science techniques and theories to provide actionable insights from data. You'll work across Global Operations and sites to improve Cost, Scale, Quality, and Cycle Time. The required works include define a general data architecture, explore the Global Operation critical initiatives, and integrate traditional or modern methods to empower the Micron A&T operation systems. The new hire would have the chance to define a scalable solution by partner with customers and other SMAI technical solution engineers. They would learn domain knowledges while understanding the business problems. We're seeking for any talent who is passionate about applying the state-of-the arts methods to solving the industry problems and has strong motivation of growing a career as a AI solution provider.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define data infrastructure roadmap for building a scalable data pipeline.
• Develop a new model or enhance the existing model with required proof of concepts experiments on practical optimization problems.
• Develop the prototype solution includes automate ETL jobs, model's prediction results, and visualization dashboard.
• Implement the appropriate data science models to production systems and release to all Micron A&T facilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Decent programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Familiar with small, big, structured and unstructured data analytics and modeling.
• Ability to demonstrate the analytical results by commonly used visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Streamlit, etc.
• Adopt the standard process of software engineering such as DevOps, Git, Agile methodology, etc.
• Excellent English communication, especially in written and spoken

Education and Experience:

• Master Degree or equivalent experience in any below fields: statistics, operation research, computer science, applied mathematics, information technology
• At least 5 years experience in solving industry problems by turning data into valuable information with appropriate predictive models.
• Shown experience in project management and multi-task simultaneously
• Strong problem solving and debugging capabilities.
• Knowledge in capacity modelling, planning and optimization will be a plus
