As a Realtime Defect Analysis (RDA) Technology Development Engineer at Micron, you will learn how to use innovative defect detection equipment and processes to fix and solve issues. The goal of this position is to accelerate cycles of learning and technology transfer in Technology Development. We need engineers who are passionate about detecting problems and eager to make changes for the better.

You will have the opportunity to learn defect detection equipment applications and also use data analysis skills to identify and solve process issues. This position will provide the opportunity for you to collaborate with engineers in process integration, process development, data science, and yield analysis within and outside Technology Development. As a Technology Development RDA engineer, your ideas will have the ability to impact the team globally. You will be responsible to support experimentation, data analysis, baseline health metrics, and detailed and random defect improvement through partnering with others in Technical Development and High Volume Manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Proactive and passionate about learning (training and coursework)
  • We need an engineer drawn to creative problem solving and innovative solutions
  • We need someone who will investigate process anomalies, root cause analysis, data manipulation, and correlations
  • We desire someone ready to learn and apply basic Data Science and Data Manipulation (scripting, coding, or programming, Python, JMP, SQL)
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication techniques.
  • The shown ability to innovate and drive effective change in an energizing environment
  • Demonstrated combination of flexibility and tenacity in the pursuit of goals
  • Excellent technical, communication, and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Preference for experience with metrology or inspection (SEM, X-ray, Laser or Optical Systems)

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and analyzing experimental process flows looking for defect anomalies and quarantining process tools that are out of control
  • Possess a continuous improvement process (CIP) demeanor, looking for ways to improve operations, and how to make a difference today!
  • Recognize, identify, and raise awareness of process anomalies with the motivation of who needs to know this now!
  • We want our engineers to use inline process signals to drive process improvements
  • Work with new inspection tools and strategies to drive towards earlier detection of problems and identify the sources
  • Build and improve upon techniques and identify new ways to use existing tools in order to identify relevant process issues
  • We expect active participation in technical meetings and then synthesize from it new opportunities or novel approaches
  • Collaborate with the global network to develop best-known methods and maintain alignment between sites

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or related field.
