Job Description

As a System Software Engineer in the Systems Integration Group (SIG), help create software for internal equipment used by one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies. Our global teams work together in a multi-discipline engineering environment to create software for internal test equipment. We are results oriented, looking for engineers who are hands-on, self-driven and are excited to learn and grow individually and as a team.

You will build software that provides infrastructure to control embedded software, third party devices, offload data to cloud services, and interfaces with UIs. You will work with other software engineers and other engineering disciplines to create and support custom semiconductor testers from the ground up.

Responsibilities

Members of our team are challenged with a wide range of Software Engineering responsibilities. We are challenged to reduce software overhead, resource utilization, and to deliver cutting edge development environments for a host of development platforms. Typical tasks include:

• Working in cross-discipline design teams involving software, electrical, controls, and mechanical engineers.
• Develop & Debug in C/C++, Python, Go, and Java.
• Creating and supporting multi-threaded command and control software.
• Close collaboration with teams to communicate with third party I/O Controllers, safety relays and thermal subsystems.
• Hands on work with physical equipment setting up test environments, modifying computers, and equipment.
• Desire to understand, debug and fix system issues spanning multiple applications.
• Daily use of debuggers, compilers, source control, networking architecture, and Linux.
• A love of tinkering, learning, and collaborating as we breathe life into advanced new systems.
• Assist in the development of software interfaces to various sensors and control components.
• Write and understand test software as it relates to regression and unit testing.
• Write software to verify and reproduce system wide software failure modes.
• Present design work for peer review.

Required Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• C++, Python proficiency
• Java, Go, SQL familiarity
• English Fluency

Preferred Qualifications

• Java, Go, SQL Proficiency
• Linux OS, Development Environment Proficiency
• GNU toolchain proficiency
• Basic electrical concept familiarity
• Container proficiency
