Title: Composite Metrology
Description: Reliable process control is essential to ensure quality of our products. Currently, for certain processes, product sampling is performed to measure and monitor product quality. Composite metrology, which uses key process input features with machine learning techniques to predict physical product measurement characteristics can help to provide even earlier signals for all products. In addition, through ML techniques, it can suggest potential root cause issues and speed up analysis when there are product issues.
Scope: The student will be introduced to Micron’s Backend Assembly/Test Manufacturing process flow to understand the benefits, requirements, and current metrology approach. He/she will explore and understand the different types of datasets in Micron, link together various data to develop a composite metrology model that can help to predict measurements for early detection.
The student will have an opportunity to work with engineers from multiple departments to gain a broader insight on the semiconductor manufacturing process and be exposed to the different kinds of production datasets available as part of that process.
Deliverable: Understand the various datasets, perform data mining and develop an innovative solution that can predict physical measurements from key process input features.
