Job Description

We are looking for a high energy, ambitious, result driven individual with strong work ethic and integrity to join us as a Data Science Engineer in the Taiwan SMAI OI department at Micron Technology. You will be responsible for developing Manufacturing Solutions to improve Fab wafer output and tool efficiency within project timelines.

You will get along with experienced Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Areas Engineers, and UX teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis projects and improvement of existing tools. In this position, you will help develop software programs, algorithms and/or automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. There will be significant opportunities to perform exploratory and new solution development activities. 

Responsibilities: 

• Strong desire to grow a career in highly automated industrial manufacturing doing analysis and machine learning on terabytes and petabytes of diverse datasets.
• Be responsible for creating value from data and developing practical intelligent predictive and recommender applications.
• Design and implement optimal data structures in appropriate data management systems such as GCP, Hadoop, Teradata, SQL Server, etc. to meet the performance and accuracy requirements of newly developed data science and machine learning applications.
• Solve complex problems, working with Product Engineering Data Scientists, front-end developers, and domain product owners.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Ability to extract data from different databases via SQL and other query languages and applying data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques.
• Strong software development skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Python and/or GCP/ Teradata and/or another SQL databases

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s/ Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent programming experiences, certifications will be considered.
• Experience in the areas: statistical modeling, feature extraction and analysis
• Experience with or desire to learn: Machine learning and other advanced analytical methods
• Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a plus
