Intern – Photolithography Process Development Engineer

We are currently seeking a creative individual for an internship position in the Photolithography Research and Development group in Boise, Idaho. As an intern, you will work on projects significant to current and future semiconductor manufacturing technology advancement to enable next generation memory and storage solutions. You will collaborate with engineers in Photolithography, Metrology, Dry Etch, Wet Process, and other process areas. During the internship, your will complete two to three projects. Topics may cover photoresist evaluations, reticle/layout/OPC development, line width roughness improvements, process window analysis, overlay optimization, etc.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to

  • Design of experiments (DOE) in chemical process specific to lithography, including materials for 365, 248, and 193 nm lithography.
  • Plan and run experiments in semiconductor cleanroom using state-of-the-art technology.
  • Analyze image and/or data through programming and data processing software. Data may include critical dimension, registration, cross section etc.
  • Document and communicate plans, status, and results of R&D projects in written reports and presentations, including the analysis and interpretation of data.

Qualifications

  • Coursework or experience in photolithography and semiconductor manufacturing preferred.
  • Data Science, programming experience, and coursework/experience in statistics and data analysis are strongly preferred.
  • Strong aptitude for research/development and ability to build production-worthy technologies.
  • Capable of working independently and to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well in groups.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills- written, verbal and presentation.

Education

Applicants should be working towards an M. S. or Ph. D. in a semiconductor-related field and will continue education in Fall of 2023. Note: Internship service dates are during the spring/summer of 2023
