Job Description

The primary responsibilities for this position will be site level projects in a manufacturing environment where the development of software applications is necessary for automation and compliance. This job will focus primarily on these areas:

• Technical ownership and configuration management of software solutions and coding best practices
• Understand Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and can apply them to current project
• Full lifecycle development of applications including requirements capture and development, software architecture, integration and testing, and documentation of software of moderate complexity
• Capable of integrating and testing changes to existing software applications
• Capable of producing engineering estimates for individuals’ tasks to contribute to Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and Bid proposals
• Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues and some systems issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools
• Escalate and articulate encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion
• Lead and/or participate in cross-functional team efforts in the areas described above
• Project management
• Develop plans aligned with corporate policies and budgets 
• Influential regarding policies, best practices, and procedures

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience with windows based application development
• At least 2 years of experience with web based software development
• At least 2 years of experience with C#, VB.NET, HTML, Java, WinForms, WPF, and Python
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
