This position is an onsite role. 

The Software Engineering department in Indianapolis is looking for support for our V-22 aircraft programs and beyond. Successful candidates will support development, test and other software-related tasks throughout the life cycle of product development for various projects. These could include software applications for mobile, Windows, Linux, and even proprietary or real-time embedded operating environments. The work associated with our Indianapolis group is most often focused on products within the exciting world surrounding military aircraft systems or similar but can also include projects for other customers, both internal and external.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Help provide creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems. 
  • Work closely with other Software Engineers and stakeholders on tasking for solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind. 
  • Adaptability and an eye toward learning are keys to success. As one example, an incoming Software Engineer may be assigned primarily and in ongoing fashion to an integrated and cross-functional team using Agile Scrum to update a cockpit display system. That same Software Engineer may additionally be assigned to work on software application or documentation or model updates for a totally unrelated system with different tools and language requirements. Multiple positions and projects exist.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Preferred majors: Computer Science/Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or similar STEM degree with some emphasis on software.
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships). 
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Demonstrated programming experience with two or more languages such as Ada, C, C++, C#, Java, Python
  • Understanding of software life-cycle stages such as requirements, design, development, integration, and test whether in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe, eXtreme Programming, etc.) or other life-cycle methodology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work closely in a multi-discipline team daily
  • Strong analytical skills as evidenced by projects or work experience
  • Knowledge in Android, Windows, and/or Linux operating system concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in aircraft/aviation related programs
  • Experience with requirements and use case analysis such as UML
  • Experience with scripting (Ruby, Perl, Python, PHP, etc.)
  • Experience and/or knowledge with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Delivery, Model Based Engineering
  • Experience and/or knowledge with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) like Android Studio, Eclipse, MS Visual Studio, and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with technologies such as .NET, XML, WPF, GL Studio, Linux, VxWorks, AWS, Unreal Engine
  • Experience with Real-time Operating Systems and or embedded systems programming

  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
