Job Summary:

The Quality Management System (QMS) Data Science and Analytics Manager will split time between expanding and optimizing our compliance team data processes, creating and optimizing data flows for our collaboration tools to drive continuous improvement, and supporting the compliance audit team in performing program, organizational, manufacturing area, and engineering lab audits to assure compliance to the Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) QMS as well as Raytheon Technologies Policies and Procedures across all RMD facilities.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

This position will require visualization skills to be able to transform audit and corrective action data into coherent, visual, interactive, and actionable insights to facilitate and drive continuous improvements within our compliance department and with other functions. Ideally the candidate will be able to understand and analyze the audit and corrective action data (housed in RCAS) and creatively determine the best approach to deliver a visual representation of the data that can be used to deliver value to our team and ultimately the company in an improvement and call for change capacity. Learning and supporting the audit process will enable in the full understanding of the data being utilized, and the candidate will be better suited to provide useful data design visualizations.

Knowledge in Power BI in building reports and dashboards is required. Knowledge in Tableau design is also preferred. The candidate will also assist with process improvements, such as, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, recommending and building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data, etc.

The candidate will also work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs. The candidate will have the ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities and the ability to work proactively by anticipating needs and suggesting assistance to improve productivity. The candidate must be self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to perform efficiently both independently and in a team environment.

The auditing portion of this position will require an understanding of organizational quality management systems and the use of quality tools and processes to ensure effective process measurement, control, reporting, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), and continuous improvement. Auditors must also be able to mentor other functions and disciplines on compliance related issues.

The auditing process includes the planning, preparing, conducting, reporting, and following-up of corrective actions, and audits are conducted per the RMD comprehensive audit schedule and procedures.

The position will require interface with RMD leaders on appropriate program, functional, and compliance status/issues and may require interface with DCMA, MDA, FAA, and other Customers.

The candidate will assist in coordinating activities with RMD Compliance Site Leads and RMD Site Leads for communicating and interfacing at all levels of the organization to positively influence change and direction.

This position will report to the RMD Quality System Compliance Manager and may require travel up to 25% to several RMD locations limited to domestic travel only.

Other Duties Will Include:

  • Scheduling and conducting audits and assessments by interviewing, investigation and examination of objective evidence, standards, procedures, work instructions, drawings, specifications, regulations, etc.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders, including Customers, to plan and conduct internal audits.
  • Assist in coordinating external audit activities related to the QMS including Enterprise, NQA and customer audits.
  • Ensuring planned audits are conducted on time and any issues are identified and addressed.
  • Reporting audit results, Corrective Action Request (CAR) trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively to Compliance Site Lead/Manager, program, and other audit stakeholders on audit related activities.
  • Help maintain an audit ready culture at all sites.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 8 years of experience in a data analytics, continuous improvement role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Strong data analysis / data engineering skills with the ability to ingest/capture, process, store, analyze, design, visualize, draw conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Power BI
  • Tableau preferred, or willingness to learn
  • Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, or Access)
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:

  • Compliance Auditing and/or Quality experience
  • Have a broad knowledge and understanding of the domain and processes that may be assessed during audits.
  • Analytical/critical thinking with the ability to solve problems independently
  • Familiarity with the Raytheon Corrective Action System (RCAS) tool.
  • Familiarity with RMD, Legacy Integrated Defense Systems, and/or Legacy Raytheon Missile Systems Command Media.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with process owners to drive compliance and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of quality tools and processes.
  • Experience with general ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality requirements, commercial, aerospace, FAA and defense regulations and standards, and a working knowledge of Missile Defense Agency’s Mission Assurance Provisions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration both internally and externally.
