Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute the digital manufacturing transformation across Interiors and Collins sites.
  • Develop digital and industry 4.0 roadmap and global implementation schedule with executives and factories owners.
  • Grow and develop the technical capability across Collins in Machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Develop novel digital solutions to improve manufacturing performances and improve operational performances.
  • Collaborate globally with multi-cultural talent to develop advanced tools to be deployed in factories to improve the efficiency and the quality performances.
  • Lead research, development and deployment of digital manufacturing technology and agile automation production system solutions into global manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop and own delivery of digital transformation for manufacturing plants within our business units, including financial and technology goals.
  • Identify gaps from operations and translate into technical needs and potential projects for the operations modernization initiatives.
  • Partner with Plant Managers, local plant team members, Productivity leaders, Lean leaders, IT and others to support and ensure alignment with current and future business unit goals.
  • Engage the factory floor and engage with both operators and managers to benchmark and identify future solutions.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior leadership/management experience within the aerospace or other manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience with digital transformation and industry 4.0 in aerospace or transportation industry.
  • Automated Optical Inspection experience and experience with machine learning and image processing.
  • Programming language experience including, but not limited to Python, MATLAB etc.
  • Implementation and development of software experience.
  • Ability to effectively communication with all levels of employees (including executive leadership).
  • Ability to lead teams across multiple sites, globally.
  • Ability to travel, globally, as needed for the role (25-40% anticipated).
