Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop, execute, and analyze simulations in a high-performance computing environment, which can include the use of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), to support electrooptical infrared (EO/IR) system design/trade studies, performance assessment, algorithm enhancements, algorithm validation and integrated system tests.

Work within a team to develop analysis of the data for the specific task as well as provide insight and understanding of the system performance, recognizing, and troubleshooting any anomalies observed in the simulation results.

Ensure the solutions provided meet their defined requirements and function as needed through rigorous verification and validation. This activity utilizes data from several sources up to and including system level testing. 

Assist with integrating high-fidelity radiometric simulations into federations managed by other US Government organizations.

Clearance Requirement: Must have an active Secret Security Clearance, US Citizenship required.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years or more experience with EO/IR sensor payload Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis
  • Modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis
  • Digital image processing
  • MATLAB for data analysis
  • Programming in MATLAB, C, C++, Java, or Python
  • Interpersonal/Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Determine and develop rigorous analytical approaches to problem solving
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with object-oriented programming with proficiency in Windows and Linux
  • Adaptive signal and image processing and optimization
  • Radiometry, EM wave propagation phenomenology and modeling
  • Knowledge of classification and machine learning techniques

Required Education: 

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related STEM discipline such as Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

The salary range for this role is 123,000 USD - 259,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
