Job Description

As the Product Manager on the Employee Skills team, you’ll play an integral part in shaping the culture of talent development and management at Best Buy. You’ll champion your strategy and obtain buy-in from key stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership. You’ll help define product visions and roadmaps as well as quarterly objectives and key results. You’ll leverage customer research, external market insights and key measurements of your products to lead data-driven prioritization to design, build and launch initiatives in support of customer needs, business objectives and key results. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring there are continuous feedback loops with users and support discovery practices that effectively inform priorities and how they advance against the product team vision.

Best Buy Digital and Technology teams are working in a hybrid work model. Most roles can predominantly work from home but the person who fills this role will must be within a commutable distance to Richfield, MN or Atlanta, GA.

What you’ll do

  • Craft a vision for moderately complex products with minimal supervision that clearly demonstrate understanding of the product goals and organizational needs
  • Demonstrate proficiency in translating business needs into customer goals and features as well as mastery in ensuring product strategies, roadmaps and product features are delivered against core customer value propositions
  • Maintain customer needs at the forefront through empathy and understanding for the variety of customers their products may serve.
  • Analyze complex data sets and leverage that analysis to make data-driven product decisions
  • Prioritize new feature launch based on qualitative and quantitative data-driven insights. Demonstrates innovating with purpose through a test/learn/iterate mindset
  • Participate in day-to-day product team activities, driving high quality customer experiences and exploring what is possible with technology

Basic qualifications

  • 2 or more years of product management experience OR experience working with engineers, user experience, strategy, etc.
  • 1 or more years of relevant experience in strategy creation, customer-focused solutioning, cross-functional leadership, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, business, marketing or related field OR equivalent experience

Preferred qualifications

  • 1 or more years of experience with direct or indirect leadership, team management or work direction
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom
  • Experience with human capital management systems or platforms supporting skill identification, ontology, and related lifecycle to enable an agile workforce
