A vacancy as a Big Data Lead Architect (H/F) has arisen within Airbus Commercial Aircraft.

At Big Data Product & Service Line (PSL) our vision is to make Airbus a data driven company by making it easier to acquire, explore, track, analyse and broadcast high quality data and insights.

In order to implement this vision, we offer the most attractive data platforms and services that are : Easy to use, Powerful & Trustworthy

The platform we provide are various : from data platform (Palantir Foundry, On premises stack based on Open Source Software) to visualisation tools (QlikSense, Spotfire, SAP Analytics Cloud)

To serve our 30k+ monthly active users, we need to scale our services to the sky !

Big Data Key figures : 30+ PB storage, 1M spark jobs per day, 8M core hours per month 

You will have to:

• Define & communicate a technical and functional vision / roadmap for the platform & services under the PSL responsibility to ensure alignment & global optimum
• Define & communicate architecture patterns (Functional & technical) that enables our customers to best use our platforms
• Provide architectural support to projects that need to acquire / process data to get insights.
• Support security leaders to take the best decision to ensure implementation of Airbus Security standards
• Be part of the Big Data PSL Solution Governance as Architect : you will participate in EPIC refinements, Capabilities prioritisation, Team demo participation, Solution demo preparation. 
• Work in close relationship with the Enterprise Architect team to ensure the right positioning of the PSL solutions into the IM ecosystem
• Evangelise around Big Data technologies and the associated value
• Grow Big Data & analytics expertise in the PSL & outside and closely follow up latest Big Data developments in technology, security and finops
• Promote modern application development best practices (devops, finops, mlops, …)
• Play active role in external benchmarks

You will be accountable and in charge of leading the following activities, within the Big Data Platform Product Line:

• Architecture roadmap definition & communication
• Architecture patterns for integration of our platforms with the external ecosystem
• Decision tree that helps our customers to choose the best platform that fits their needs
• Non functional requirements that are applicable to all the platform & services under the PSL scope
• Architecture definitions of all the platforms & services under the PSL scope.
• Deliver analytics expertise on key cross divisional programs including Skywise

You will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:

• Educated to a 5 years’ degree level (or equivalent) in Information System or a related discipline
• Strong IT background and experience in IT Architecture and software engineering
• Knowledge and application of architecture modelling methods and tools
• Expertise in Data architecture / Data Strategy / Data Modelling / Data analytics
• Proven experience of designing, building and deploying cloud solutions, preferably on AWS (GCP is a plus)
• Experience in designing Big Data solutions (data ingestion, date processing, data computation, Machine Learning)
• Experience in designing and implementing serverless architectures, APIs, RESTful Web-services
• DevOps and DevSecOps culture and mindset
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Language skills : an advanced level of English
• Knowledge and interest in Design Thinking, Lean Startup approach
• Experience in Agile appreciated (in particular SAFe)
• Interest and knowledge in Airbus and/or Airline Operations business,
