A position of EHS Data Analytics & Integration Manager (m/f) has just opened at Airbus in Toulouse.

As the successful candidate, you will be joining the Environment and Health & Safety organization.

With your cross-disciplinary expertise and experience in EHS, data analytics and computer sciences, we welcome you to become part of an international multi-functional EHS and IT team tasked with designing, refining and deploying global digital solutions for all corporate needs and processes in the areas of environmental engineering, occupational health & safety, well-being, risk management and industrial hygiene to ensure the safety of our more than 130,000 employees.

You will not only ensure the digital transformation of these EHS processes and their effects on our global health & safety performance, but you will also be in constant contact with all our production areas in order to quickly and agilely translate new improvement ideas and impulses from these sectors into new data-driven products and solutions that will maximise the benefits for the company and its employees as quickly and effectively as possible. An essential focus in that position will be to proactively and sustainably position EHS for all existing and upcoming data-driven demands and to design internal products and solutions that position us for the future in the area of Big Data with regard to the constantly increasing complexity and frequency of requirements by our business areas.

You will continuously accompany our EHS and business stakeholders from early project planning phases to a transition into run modes. An essential part of the position is the continuous extension of our global digital Airbus EHS platforms and our respective big data landscape by new functional fields and new regions outside of Europe.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the following main activities:

  • Under the direction of the Head of EHS Projects & Transformation, you will accompany ongoing projects and ones that are in the planning stage, as well as drive forward your own projects that focus on data analytics and interface technology. Depending on the project environment and goal, you will use traditional, agile and hybrid project management frameworks.
  • You will support and lead multifunctional teams from different areas of the company and external consulting firms to achieve the cross-disciplinary goals of your missions on time, on budget and on quality with complete satisfaction of your customers from all areas of the company.
  • You set guidance and, in alignment with EHS Governance, define policies regarding EHS data modelling. Furthermore, you create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced data redundancy. The enablement of the EHS function to rapidly extract data from required sources in order to meet business requirements will be one of your key deliverables.
  • You develop, implement and maintains schedule/dependency logic for automated Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processing and you maintain the Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
  • Developing best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models. In that context, you analyze, evaluate, test, recommend and create data related tools and processes as well as data-related system integration challenges and proposes appropriate solutions.
  • Ensuring an effective and purposeful constant communication with Airbus Corporate EHS Leadership during the fulfilment of your supported and led initiatives to ensure your products and solutions are always compliant with corporate and regulatory EHS processes and policies.
  • Reporting your project progress and performance to the Head of EHS Projects & Transformation, to Corporate EHS Leadership as well as to company management.
  • Advising both global EHS functions and business areas on possible solutions for the requirements placed by them and serve as an EHS analytics business partner.
  • Constant observation of and alignment with the global technical Airbus landscape when defining your projected products and solutions as well as exploring and establishing interfaces to other systems in accordance with current data security, protection and export guidelines in order to maximize the added value of your project deliverables for our customers.
  • Organizing and leading regular steering meetings with your project sponsors and stakeholders, in which you will report project statuses at the executive level and make strategic recommendations for effective and value-adding continuation.

Required skills:

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Master degree level in the field of Engineering or Computer Science
  • 3 years minimum of working experience in an international working environment, preferably in the fields of EHS and IT/Rapid Prototyping
  • Previous work experience within Airbus, especially within the areas of EHS and/or Safety Data Performance is an immense advantage
  • Experience in working multidisciplinary distributed and co-located teams in highly complex regulatory (preferably EHS-related) and technical/IT environments
  • Extensive experience in Data Security and Data Protection affairs on a multinational level, specifically in relation to GDPR compliant handling of highly critical EHS data is desirable
  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to apply the required level of patience, critical thinking and persistence to achieve set product/project goals and to manage stakeholder expectations and to tailor communication to a vast variety of stakeholders
  • Critical thinking and a strong talent for creative problem solving
  • Practical and goal-oriented expert who does not find it difficult to convince stakeholders and team members of your ideas and to motivate them without losing sight of the Bigger Picture
  • Ability to balance logic and creativity with flexibility allowing you to quickly adapt yourself and your teams to changing project environments while maintaining a positive work atmosphere
  • Ability to act as an intrapeneur and networker who has a good ability to identify data-driven use cases and to accompany them to their implementation in order to generate the greatest possible value for both EHS and our business perimeters
  • With regard to the fields of data analytics and interfacing, knowledge of Python, MS Excel/VBA, database architecture, SQL/mySQL and Qlik (Sense)/Tableau is of great importance. Previous theoretical and practical experience in Machine Learning/AI and Inferential/Predictive Statistics is an advantage
  • Team Player
  • Ability to communicate at all management levels
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English at a business fluent level
  • Good knowledge of Spanish and/or German is an advantage
