About the Role

The Data Scientist is responsible for performing complex statistical analyses for deeper understanding of viewing and panelist behavior, creating required quality control reports, monitors and analyses metrics and KPIs for Nielsen’s Television Audience Measurement products. The Data Scientist also makes recommendations related methodology, data quality or measurement enhancement.

Responsibilities

  • Performing sampling and weighting according to de?ned methodology for surveys.
  • Making recommendations to improve questionnaire design.
  • Controlling the quality of the survey database and enhancing the routine of the data checks.
  • Related to Panel Sample selection, RIM Weighting design and Universes updates:
  • Performing complex analyses to specify panel sample design according to speci?ed methodology.
  • Performing universe estimation from Central Statistical O?ce data according to speci?ed methodology.
  • Performing and analyzing the tests on new universes/weighting structures implemented in the production system. Evaluating the e?ect of the new RW structure at the viewing.
  • To check the accuracy of the implementation.
  • To check the impact on weighting results, weight distribution and weighing e?ciency.
  • To evaluate the e?ect at the viewing.
  • To monitor coherence and consistency between the estimated universe and the productive sample
  • Recommending improvement of panel demo update questionnaire design.
  • Recommending improvement of other panelist surveys including questionnaire design and data collection approach.
  • Recommending quality control and data validation improvement of linear and nonlinear viewing data
  • Analyzing data quality according to de?ned criteria’s, de?ning and performing creative and e?ective analyses approaches for quality control
  •  Performing regular reviews routine aspects of the service (e.g., as required from reviews to the panel controls, weighting, etc).
  • Producing complex trend analyses of linear and nonlinear viewing
  • Performing viewing behaviour analysis to detect any abnormality in the trends.
  • Performing panel behaviour analysis to detect any abnormality in the trends.
  • Checking extreme viewers to verify the consistency of the behavioural trend.
  • Implementing multi-variable statistical models for deeper understanding of the data.
  • Preparing presentation documents
  • Keeping Reference Manual sessions related to DSci responsibility updated.
  • Producing quality control reports based on business requirements.
  • Producing management reports as required.
  • Providing analytical support and assistance to Operations when necessary.
  • Document procedures and keep them updated.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Level of studies: University Degree or Diploma
  • Type of studies: statistics or sciences (mathematics) or sociology or economy
  • 3 or more years Data Scientist work experience
  • Work experience in the area of media research is preferred
  • Working experience in Gulf countries
  • A solid understanding of statistical concepts and techniques used in a market research environment, including complex data approaches as fusion and modeling techniques
  • Computer literate using R or Python
  • Work experience with Machine Learning and Arti?cial Intelligence is an advantage.
  • Pro?cient in English
