Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and standardize marketing science solutions in proofs-of-concept and prototypes
  • Continuously improve the efficiency of the marketing science products (e.g. ensure quality by adherence to coding guidelines, documentation and reproducibility)
  • Optimize marketing science models using code optimization, high-performance computing and real-time techniques
  • Build analytical pipelines at scale using cloud services, containerized applications and distributed systems
  • Identify best practices and create continuous improvement of tools and methods
  • Closely collaborate with Product Owners, Modellers, Marketing Scientists and Front End Software Engineers

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree that reflects strong statistical/mathematical / computer science skills
  • Typically 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Solid knowledge of analytic programming languages (R and Python are a must have) and the respective Machine Learning / Statistical Modeling ecosystem
  • Solid knowledge of optimization and/or machine learning algorithms and/or deep learning algorithms
  • Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals, software design principles and patterns, patterns and testing strategies
  • Basic skills with regard to working in (big) database environments (e.g. RDBMS, Spark, Hadoop)
  • Solid skills with SQL
  • Solid skills concerning performance optimization and scalability (e.g., parallelization, code optimization, functions as a service)
  • Solid statistical skills and knowledge of econometric techniques,
    • either in survey statistics (sampling, non-response adjustments, Bayesian statistics),
    • or econometric modelling (program evaluation, forecasting, economic theory, panel data),
    • or observational causal inference (potential outcomes, structural equation models, instrumental variables)
    • or experimental design.
  • Basic understanding of Dockerization and Kubernetes/docker-compose
  • Solid skills in REST-API/GraphQL with the ability to deploy services
