Our Connect Technology teams are working on our new Connect platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on Connect data and insights to innovate and grow.

As a Tech Lead, you’ll be responsible for empowering a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. Right now our platform is based in Apache Spark, Scala, Apache Hive, Azure Databricks, Java, Ext JS, PostgresSql, Snowflake and we continue to adopt the best of breed in cloud-native, low-latency technologies. We value CI/CD in everything that we develop. Our team is co-located and agile, with central technology hubs in Chicago, Madrid and Chennai.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Manage a small team of big data, back end (Java) and front end (Ext JS) developers

• Lead your team in the architecture, design and development of highly available, low latency, cloud-native Big data applications

• Implement big data pipeline ingesting large volumes of data and optimize the data processing engine

• Identify opportunities to optimize the existing solution, suggest performance improvements with strong focus on cost reduction

• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot and ensure your team’s adherence to the highest level of quality in writing complex, maintainable code to develop scalable and flexible applications

• Manage cross-functional team members and stakeholders throughout projects of varying scope and complexity

WE’RE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE:

• Great foundational leadership skills, including experience managing a small team of technologists with minimum experience of 10+years

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in big data technologies, Java and cloud technologies

• Good understanding of distributed computing principles, ETL techniques, good knowledge of SQL & database optimization techniques and efficient processing of huge volume of data

• Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface across cross-functional technology teams and the business

• Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
