Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Quantum is hiring a Research Staff Member to expand our modular quantum systems team. As this is an exploratory research area, candidates are sought in a variety of expertise areas that range from quantum state transfer over microwave cables to microwave-optical transducers. Given the fundamental physical challenge in extending superconducting quantum systems beyond the single chip environment of IBM Quantum’s current state-of-the-art systems, candidates should have demonstrated original research in related areas and passion for solving some of the most complex problems required to continue the scaling roadmap for superconducting quantum computers

This position is located in the Yorktown Heights, NY area.Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 3 years of experience in quantum optics or related subject areas of physics, electrical engineering or materials science;
• 3 years of experience in superconducting devices, microwave engineering or integrated photonics;

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least 5 years experience in quantum computing and information theory
