Senior / Tech Lead Applied Scientist ( AI / ML Search Relevancy / Ranking ) USA Remote

This role is for a high level, hands on technical individual contributor (not a formal administrative people manager).

You will be working closely with business teams, including stakeholders and essential partners internally at Dell Technologies to design, build and productionize end-to-end machine learning solutions & products to enhance experiences and improve outcomes for our business and customers:

• Design & build scalable, efficient & automated processes for large-scale data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation and servings
• Deploy ML models in Search Relevancy, Personalization, Ranking, Contextual understanding
• Conduct experimentation to improve model performance
• Participate in brainstorming sessions
• Communicate effectively verbally, in writing and in presentations to both scientists and non-scientists
• Work independently with internal and external teams

Essential Requirements

• 5 years of experience with a PhD, or 8 years with a Master’s degree, or 12 years with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience, including 4 years dedicated experience in Applied Scientist role
• Experience deploying ML models in Search Relevancy, Personalization, Ranking, Contextual understanding; Deep knowledge of Machine Learning, information retrieval, data mining, statistics, NLP or related field
• Experience of technical mentorship to Data Scientists
• Exposure to all stages in a Data Science project life cycle including designed & deployed Machine Learning models in production and Machine Learning techniques like Ranking, Classification, Clustering, Regression and Topic Modeling
• Strong database knowledge and expertise in SQL, Python
• Solid Programming skills to retrieve, analyze and process data, and build machine learning models from the ground up
• Familiarity with Agile practices / Experience working in an Agile environment (Exposure to Agile concepts)

Desired Requirements

• 4 years dedicated experience as Applied Data Scientist with hands on experience Search Relevancy, Personalization, Ranking, Contextual understanding
• Write production level code in Python, plus Git experience
• Knowledge on concepts - Hypothesis Testing, Experimental Design & AB Testing
