Job Description

  • Provide statistical solutions to drug / vaccine research and development (R&D) projects.
  • Ensure that sound scientific principles and statistical methods are applied to designing and analyzing non-clinical and clinical studies.
  • Interact with people with diverse background and expertise, including research scientists, clinical scientists, regulatory experts, IT specialists, and their teams in MRL.
  • Serve as statistical representative in the cross-functional teams for product discovery and development.
  • Ensure that study designs are consistent with program objectives and meet worldwide regulatory and marketing needs.
  • Identify technical or other potential problems arising in the design, conduct, and analysis of non-clinical or clinical studies, propose solutions and carry them out.
  • Identify opportunities to add value to drug / vaccine discovery and development programs. Analyze data and interpret results from non-clinical or clinical studies.
  • Apply and implement basic and complex statistical techniques to these analyses.
  • Orally present and prepare written reports to effectively communicate analysis results to audience with diverse background and expertise.
  • Provide responses to queries relating to study design, analysis, and interpretation posed by the research scientists, clinical scientists, and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in research activities for innovative statistical methods.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a Ph.D. (or its US equivalent) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or related disciplines or a Master’s degree (or its US equivalent) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science or related disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical principles and methodologies and strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Must possess demonstrated strong programming skills, especially in R language; interest in statistical methodology research and in application of novel methods to real-world problems; and ability to learn, be proactive and motivated, and consistently focus on details and prompt execution.
  • Ability to function well both independently and collaboratively and ability to collaborate with scientists and work on multidisciplinary teams also required.
  • Telecommuting permitted. 
  • 40 hours per week: M-F: 9am-5pm. 
  • Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States
