Position Description:

This position will be reporting to the Automation & Digital Data Engineering team whose mission it is to support the operation of our Company's Pennsylvania facilities including tasks around equipment maintenance, automation & IT system administration and data analysis among other things. While serving in this role, the employee will be learning about these various tasks of the facility and seeking to find means to improve the operation. This role is best suited for someone looking for opportunities to continually grow, adapt and develop with the variety and complexity of this groups’ ever-changing project portfolio.

The Data Analytics Engineer will focus on developing and assisting the Pennsylvania Global Workplace Enterprise Solutions organization in data visualization, analysis, monitoring, modeling and machine learning to derive insights for our business partners in facilities management, utility operations, maintenance & site services. Through study of equipment history, process data, operating procedures, failure mode analysis and other techniques, they will use mathematics and programming to turn data into business intelligence and decisions.

Candidate will receive guidance and direction from immediate supervisor assisting in the development of short-term assignments and long-term strategies

The primary activities and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Solving problems through focused data analysis and statistical techniques
  • Conduct data mining and investigation to uncover trends and correlations to better predict business results & opportunities in productivity
  • Aid in the development of dashboards and visualizations to improve equipment and system performance and generating effective user responses
  • Designing, extracting and linking datasets from internal and external sources
  • Develop and present on assignment outcomes to stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Working closely with system experts to understand and design solutions including coordination with vendors to develop final products

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Minimum: B.S. Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems
  • Preferred fields are Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Managed Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering / Development, Data Science, Mathematics or equivalent.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Programming experience with preference to: Process Information (PI), Spotfire, Qlik, Access, Excel Python, Visual Basic and SQL Queries
  • Experience creating data visualizations with modern tools (PowerBI, Spotfire, Qlik, Pipeline Pilot) Experience working with industrial data sources (e.g., SCADA software including Ignition, Delta-V, BAS)
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and software documentation
  • Professional experience in any of the following areas beneficial but not required: Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Predictive Fault Detection, Statistics, HVAC Operations
  • Experience working in agile methodologies is beneficial
