The Data Engineer will be part of the Animal Health Technology Delivery team focused on developing innovative data solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in design, development and implementation of complex data pipelines to extract data from a variety of sources and populate data lake and data warehouse.
• Develop data transformation rules and data modeling capabilities.
• Actively listen, and accurately translate complex business questions into an accurate technical design that meets customer needs.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability and efficiency.
• Ability to work across the organization including Executives, Product owners, and Design teams to assist with data related technical issues and support their data needs.
• Perform data management releases following our Company's standard SDLC in an Agile DevOps model.
• Partner with domain experts to verify and drive model capabilities and translate modeling outputs into business language.
• Partner with IT resources to enable solution development using appropriate tools/technology, rapid prototyping and inform the design of analytical products.
• Proficiency with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL.
• Create technical documentation as needed.

Education:

• Bachelors degree (Prefer B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business or related field)

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of working experience delivering ETL, data warehouse, and data analytics capabilities.
• 1+ years of cloud computing experience: preferably with AWS and Redshift.
• 2+ years of working experience in developing and / or deploying complex Business Analytics solutions.
• Prior working experience with Agile development methods and DevOps.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Enterprise data sets – Across Value chain of Commercial, Supply chain, and Research.
• BI development experience for Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cubes with Spotfire / Qlik / PowerBI, etc.
• AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification.
