Responsibilities:

  • Provides data analytic solutions to a multi-omics-based approach in target discovery and biomarker development leveraging both digital imaging and molecular date types.
  • Ensures that sound scientific principles and analytic methods are applied. 
  • Utilizes data analytic methods including statistical modeling, machine learning, and visualization.
  • Interacts with people with diverse background and expertise, including research scientists, clinical scientists, regulatory experts, IT specialists, and other teams in our Research & Development Division.

Primary activities:

  • Develop/modify an in-house, deep learning based digital pathology pipeline for primitive identification in the liver microenvironment (LME)
  • Extraction of human interpretable features (HIF) from LME and integrate HIF with other molecular data modalities such as bulk RNAseq, spatial transcriptomics, and proteomics.
  • Development and implementation of subgroup analysis methods to identify the underlying response/resistance mechanisms of patients to different treatments, using a multi-omics approach.
  • Serves as data analytic representative in the cross-functional teams.
  • Identifies technical or other potential problems arising in the design, conduct, and analysis of the projects, proposes solutions and carries them out. 
  • Identifies opportunities to add value to drug / vaccine R&D programs.
  • Develops software programs, algorithms, and automated processes.
  • Applies and implements various data analytic techniques and methods. 
  • Orally presents and prepares written reports to effectively communicate analysis results to audience with diverse background and expertise. 
  • Is involved in research activities for innovative statistical methods. 

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must currently hold a PhD OR receive a PhD within one year​ preferably in Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related disciplines or

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Solid knowledge of imaging analysis, preferably with histology images
  • Demonstrated strong programming skills, especially in R language and Python.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to function well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated interest in data analytic methodology research and in application of novel methods to real-world problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, be proactive and motivated, and consistently focus on details and prompt execution.
  • Ability to collaborate with scientists and work on multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge of various Machine Learning methods, including deep learning
  • Knowledge of generating, processing, and analyzing large and complex data generated by modern life science technologies.

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected salary range:

$75,000.00-$86,000.00
