The Associate Director, Human Health Insights, Data and Analytics, Vaccines is a key member on the vaccines team. The individual in this role will be responsible for deriving and communicating data-driven and actionable insights that drive greater customer and market understanding to inform vaccines launch strategies, business development opportunities and help meet in-line vaccines coverage objectives.

The individual in this role will be working independently on small-scale analyses as well as with a scrum team for larger engagements, comprised of data analysts, data engineers, data scientists, statisticians, business analysts, and subject matter experts to deliver well-defined projects and insights.

The preferred candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, understanding of healthcare & technology, a demonstrated record of producing actionable insights from analytics, knowledge of and ability to identify and use new data sources to inform marketing strategy. They will have demonstrated consistently strong leadership skills, an ability to work both independently and with a team. They will empower a growth mindset and inspire a culture of continual learning. This role will require interfacing and collaborating with many teams so strong communication skills is a must.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand the stakeholders' business priorities and help build solutions that support business goals
  • Define and Translate business problems and objectives into analytical problems that require analytical solutions
  • Choose appropriate analytical techniques and model methods to address business problems
  • Communicate intensively with other platforms/ competencies to comprehend new trends and methodologies being implemented/ considered within the company ecosystem
  • Establish and manage close relationships with stakeholders
  • Build “community of practice” leveraging the experience of delivering complex analytics projects
  • Develop production-grade models while thinking strategically 
  • Contribute to innovative experiments, specifically to idea generation, idea incubation and/or experimentation
  • Travel may be required (<10%) 

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related quantitative field 
  • PhD degree preferred 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant delivery of complex analytical projects
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Applied Machine Learning, with at least 2 years on cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Self-motivation, proactivity, and ability to work independently with minimum direction
  • Proven knowledge of business processes and industry/ market trends within the pharmaceutical space
  • Excellent business acumen, with proven ability to understand business processes in detail – both at global and region/ country levels – and translate these into user stories and detailed business requirements
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills, along with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with ability to navigate a complex matrix environment and organize/prioritize work efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse groups of work colleagues and positively manage ambiguity
  • Hands-on experience writing production-grade ML code

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Hands on coding experience in Python/PySpark/R/Scala/Java or any other OOP; ETL using SQL 
  • Experience in SageMaker 
  • Experience using cloud-based SQL & noSQL databases (Redshift, BQ, Athena, Mongo)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the Healthcare industry
