Job Description

• Manage and develop teams of individual contributors or managers in roles responsible for a range of analytical and predictive modeling data science initiatives with moderate complexity and risk that drive and influence objectives and products and improve business performance
• Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners, and peers associated with or affected by the data driven insights, patterns, and recommendations made by the data science team; collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior managers
• Identify and recommend opportunities to leverage data science with a focus on actionable insights; lead hypothesis generation around business problems with varying degrees of criticality
• Determine appropriate strategy and actions of data science team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables that utilize advanced data science tools and techniques; interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
• Evaluate, propose, and implement strategies for developing and utilizing advanced analytic data science resources to recommend business solutions and initiatives
• Provide strategic thought leadership to the team on data science best practices, methods, and tools used to maximize output
• Automate and streamline projects to increase efficiencies and scalability
• Communicate actionable insights and recommendations using data provided by the team in a digestible format to a non-technical audience of varying levels, including senior managers
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in aligned department or business group
• Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
• Manage a team of data scientists; guides model development and code creation
• Manage model validation, exclusions or policy variations
• Develop advanced analytic techniques to solve ongoing business questions
• Deploy analytic solutions through incorporation into daily, weekly, monthly processes and existing databases
• Establish metrics and monitor solution performance
• Communicates model timelines and impacts
• Lead LLM development
• Establish guidelines and procedures for solutions development (ground truth, methodology application, success metrics)
• Serve as Model Owner for all QSI models

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 3+ years of management experience
• Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science

Desired Qualifications:

• Python, PySpark, SQL, Model Development or Validation experience, familiarity with NLP and other ML techniques, including LLMs
• Experience working with key stakeholders to review results and model buy-in
• Experience partnering with AICOE and CMoR to ensure sound model development, documentation and validation
• Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
