Job Description

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Consultant within the Risk Factors team of Data Governance under Market and Counterparty Capital (MCC). MCC is responsible for the data, systems, models, and controls for generating risk-based capital calculations, executing stress testing exercises, generating regulatory reporting and providing certain risk data used in the Company’s financial reports. Risk Factors is responsible for managing historical market data required for MCC risk-based calculations and oversees day to day operations, controls, and oversight. In this role, the individual will work with other Risk Factors team members providing daily operational support and work with team members focusing on strategic business initiatives and objectives. This role will also partner with numerous business partners including Market and Counterparty Credit Risk Oversight/Analytics, and Technology and Support organizations.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives, and delivering insight and decision strategies within analytics and reporting, and contribute to large-scale planning related to Risk Analytics
  • Review and analyze moderately complex data aggregation, forecasting, reporting, and programming models
  • Be responsible for process production, data reconciliation, and model documentation in alignment with policy governance
  • Resolve data, production, business modeling, and lead team to meet Risk Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk reporting policies, modeling strategies, procedures, regulatory requests, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, experienced managers, compliance, and technology to resolve modeling, forecasting, and production issues, and achieve analytic and reporting goals
  • Lead projects, teams, and mentor less experienced staff
  • Partner with cross enterprise risk analysts in development of common modeling strategies

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of VBA/Python/SQL/Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to draw conclusions and translate findings from data
  • Possess strong Python programming skills with experience in working with analyzing and interpreting large datasets and data manipulation using SQL, Python, and Excel.
  • Familiar with data analytics python libraries like NumPy, Pandas, SciPy and Scikit python modules. Data science experience; working with large sets of data
  • Familiar with any visualization tool including Excel PivotChart Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
  • Be able to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions
  • Bring a culture of operational excellence and enhancements
  • Demonstrate exceptional quality and attention to detail in building analytics processes and execution of rigorous validation process to ensure high levels of confidence in findings.

  • Support research, analysis and development of market risk data-fields, data-marts and meta-data.
  • Work on various data related issues, including data gaps, in a multi - vendor environment and offer solutions. 
  • Perform root-cause analysis on data issues and drive implementation for remediation.
  • Perform reconciliations to source (or system of record) and highlight anomalies.
  • Perform various complex activities related to solution design on data solutions.
  • Provide analytical support for evaluating, implementing, monitoring and executing data strategy and execution solutions
