Job Description

This Senior Software Data & ETL Engineer position fills a critical role helping Technology achieve its strategic and operational goals as well as supporting multiple enterprise-based initiatives while adhering to safety, soundness, and regulatory compliance standards. This position demands a very action-oriented, strategic focused, candidate who can apply their critical thinking skills and use risk-averse approaches to implementation techniques and controls within our data warehouse structure and processes. Our overarching goal is to support and align with the larger organization's greater vision, serving as an informational gateway for data and business intelligence to drive decision making and to motivate positive change while mitigating risk for the organization.

This position is part of the ACME Data Management Services team (DMS) that works to build new and enhance existing data/information/and code application and data vault components in alignment with our SQL data vault 2.0 standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation, peer review, and implementation of SQL code, structure, and documentation of data artifacts for the Endpoint Data Vault (EDV) as well as the tool & reporting development teams supported by the EDV application umbrella. They will be a technical SME for the technology, application, architecture, and data structures built by the team and will provide the highest level of technical expertise for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's server-class databases. The position requires the candidate to have, and be able to utilize, a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs/design patterns. Serves as technical SME, partnering with AGILE Scrum Masters, team members, and Product owners to produce and review business and technical requirements and participate in all AGILE ceremonies with the team. They will partner with other team members to create and maintain required technical documentation, perform peer reviews, write testing scripts, and meet all the mandates of the SDLC, ALM, and QA guidelines within the Wells Fargo Enterprise Agile practice. As a recognized technical expert, they are expected to contribute in development of strategic solutions and influence long-term internal and enterprise-level data/database architecture and management strategies.


Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of experience writing Microsoft SQL Server relational database queries, stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning
  • 4+ years of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience
  • 3+ years of Autosys experience
  • 3+ years of Agile experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Advanced education or certification in CS/IT a plus
  • Good understanding of the Operating System concepts in Windows.
  • Working experience in Azure Cloud environments
  • Experience in writing advanced SQL queries and SSIS package creation and maintenance.
  • Ability to support and/or design complex ETL production environments
  • Experience with data warehousing and data mart concepts beneficial
  • Dev Ops experience helpful
  • Ability to participate in complex design discussions and drive results
  • Ability to direct and oversee escalated technical troubleshooting and complex analysis efforts for prompt recovery of major issues
  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing priorities independently and effectively
  • Experience with AGILE development methodologies
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Internal knowledge of Wells Fargo systems of record for assets and compliance monitoring a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
