Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

Enterprise Data Remediation (EDR) team members are an important part of the overall data management framework. EDR provides support to First Line of Defense (Line of Business and functional support teams) partners to design and implement solutions for collecting, managing, and consuming data.

The EDR team provides four key functions to support the Enterprise Data Remediation mission:

  • Support for Data Issue Prioritization
  • Data Issue Triage & Initial Assessment
  • Data Issue Detailed Assessment & Solution Design
  • Data Issue Remediation (Solution Implementation)

The Senior Data Management Analyst will report directly to the Data Management Senior Manager of the Traded Products and Risk remediation team.


In this role, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals for highly complex business and technical needs
  • Design and conduct complex analysis to identify and remediate data quality or integrity issues and to identify and remediate process or control gaps
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
  • Partner with groups companywide to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 7+ years of Data Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of technical experience in various data environments and tools including SQL, VBA, Python, and others
  • Knowledge and understanding of data management concepts such as data lineage, data quality, metadata, etc.
  • Financial industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnering relationships across the company at all levels (persuasive, good listener and assimilator of ideas and perspectives)
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with business units to implement processes/procedures.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize and operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; ability to deal with ambiguity and drive results often based on limited information
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
  • BS/BA degree in math, engineering, computer science, etc. a plus
