About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Specialty Software Engineer in Technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology.

The Data Engineer will be responsible for building data platform aligned to target state architecture. The successful candidate will be experienced in transformation of data platforms and has extensive experience in design and implementation of the large data platforms for operational and analytics use cases. The successful candidate would have experience with technologies such as Ab Initio, Spark, Hive & Kafka.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in building fault-tolerant, scalable systems ground-up. Experience and focused on managing all aspects of the secure application development life cycle and ensuring code reviews, test driven development, test automation, continuous build/integration/deploy of the platform.In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in complex initiatives on selected domains
  • Assure quality, security and compliance for supported systems and applications
  • Serve as a technical resource in finding software solutions
  • Review and evaluate user needs and determine requirements
  • Provide technical support, advice, and consultation with the issues relating to supported applications
  • Create test data and conduct interfaces and unit tests
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Understand and participate to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Conduct research and resolve problems in relation to processes and recommend solutions and process improvements
  • Assist other individuals in advanced software development
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of technical design experience
  • 4 + years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles
  • 4+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience
  • 4+ years of PL/SQL experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience with Ab Initio products such as EME, Control Center, Metadata Hub, or Conduct IT
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial products: exposure to fixed income securities, derivatives, and foreign exchange
  • 2+ years of experience with continuous integration development technologies such as IBM Udeploy, (UrbanCode Deploy), Jenkins, etc.
  • 3+ years of Autosys experience
