Job Description

We are looking for BI / Big Data Engineers (m / f / d) in the field of Business Intelligence or Big Data (non SAP) at our nationwide locations:

As a BI / Big Data Engineer you are specialized in one or more Big Data analysis platforms (Apache Hadoop Ecosystem, Apache Spark, Oracle Exadata or similar). In particular, you are a specialist in the analysis of very large and heterogeneous databases.

Further tasks:

• On the basis of existing process models, in a team with technical experts, concepts are created independently, implementations are developed, tests are carried out and consulting activities with regard to defined tasks are carried out independently.
• Recording operational customer requirements and developing solution proposals (including data storage, data management, processes, organization and infrastructure).
• Assessment and consideration of possible solutions and alternatives with regard to performance, implementation effort and costs.
• Creation of specifications for sub-areas of demanding big data applications on premise or in the public cloud.
• Responsible implementation of components of a big data solution (data ingestion, storage, analytics ...).
• Implementation of quality assurance measures and accompaniment of customer acceptances on the basis of predefined test plans independently coordinated with the customer for the responsible solution components.
• Preparation and implementation of presentations on customer-oriented solutions.
• Preparation and implementation of solution-specific training courses for our customers
• Creation of the required documentation as part of the project task.
• Participation in the development of innovative, demanding specialist topics (e.g. evaluation of open source platforms as future product alternatives) as well as the development of showcases and proof of concepts.
• Support in the acquisition of new projects as well as in the preliminary work regarding the technical parts of offers.
• Actively pursued own knowledge development.
• You represent the company at the IT and department level of our customers in the BI / Big Data and Analytics portfolio. 

Requirements:

• As a BI / Big Data Engineer, you will work independently and technically oriented in a team with experienced consultants and support the customer in all project phases.
• You have a degree (Bachelor) or a completed 3-year vocational training, preferably in the direction of a specialist consultant for integrated systems or specialist consultant for software technology, and already have several years of professional experience and specialist knowledge in BI / Big Data applications. 
• In particular, we expect the ability to familiarize oneself with new subject areas and product fields to a large extent independently. The ability to analyze, focus on results, communication skills, work in a network, the ability to work in a team, self-motivation and enthusiasm as well as customer orientation are other important requirements.
• With your business fluent German and English skills, you are a competent contact person for our customers.
